Politics

There's been a lot of press coverage in the UK at the moment about a certain political party and a certain individual, namely the British National Party (or BNP) and Nick Griffin. I felt like putting some words down somewhere and then remembered that I have this old blog thing. Which is nice.

Some background reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_National_Party

Boring political stuff )

I don't like Nick Griffin. He has one eye higher than the other. You can't trust him. :P

To-Do List...

Things I should be doing today

(1) - Collect Writing Course Certificate
(2) - Apply for new evening classes
(3) - Book car in for repair to door
(4) - Have a nose around at the housing market and see how much of a mortgage I might be offered
(5) - Chase up other things

Things I'm actually going to do today

(1) - Eat crisps
(2) - Drink Sprite Zero
(3) - Watch England Vs Australia in the cricket

... I think I'll take the second option.

Happy birthday Katharina!

I've had a great day of cricket and beer to celebrate my 27th. I am getting old. Ancient, almost.

:O

I feel the need to play Final Fantasy IV again, mainly because of some of the awesome tracks on this soundtrack. I especially like Phantom of the Zeromus! Although the slightly gothic rock version of the same song is passable too. Think I might invest in the DS version of the game with the birthday money I get even though I have a perfectly acceptable PS1 version of the game sat on my shelf...

Which reminds me, I should get rid of some of the archive games I have lying around. Hmmm.

Great British Beer festival on Thursday. So long liver, I knew thee well... :)

:/

A live action film of Dragonball? That's going to be car-crash viewing...

I survived the 2009 Snowpocalypse. Somehow. Lovely snow. :)

It's amazing how much the country disintegrates into chaos and is seemingly unable to cope with adverse weather conditions. Ah well.

Happy New Year Maties

I think I'm going to make 2009 a year of actions, not words.

No more saying I'm going to do something... From now on I'm just going to do it. :D

... Well, maybe starting tomorrow. ;)

The Dark Knight

I've got two things to say about this film. It was awesome and why haven't you seen it yet?

It got hot all of a sudden. Like, really hot. I need to hoover the lounge but I'm lazy. Stupid bits of black fluff from my socks.

Adam's Movie Review (TM)

Films I've seen in the last couple of weeks:

The Incredible Hulk - Better than I expected
Wanted - If you go in with little expectation, it's good.
Kung Fu Panda - Formulaic, but otherwise acceptable.
Wall-E - Visually stunning and a nice little plot.
Hancock - Good film, but left me feeling there could've been more.

Films I am looking forward to seeing:

The Dark Knight
Hellboy 2
Quantum of Solace.

So apparently my Mum's cat has been missing since Sunday. That's four days now. I've made up some posters that I'm taking back home tomorrow to put up near by. Here's hoping that doing this will make the little bugger show up. :/

Bah.

I managed to injure myself with chicken soup today.

I'd opened the can with a can opener, went to rinse it out to put in the recycling bin and cut my hand. Who said that recycling was painless?

Nothing else to report.

So I decided to make the switch from Firefox to Safari, having listened to the general "meh" attitude to the new version of Firefox. Having run a Mac for the better part of a year, I thought I should give it a go.

So far, I'm quite impressed. Took me a little while to sort out the bookmarks, but now that's done I'm quite pleased with the speed of loading, etc.

Proper geeky LJ entry! Niiiiiice.

Good to see Andrew Flintoff bowling again. :D

Walking to work while raining = Not the best plan ever created.

I'm probably going to do it again tomorrow though. Yay!

Started playing Oblivion again last night. Think I will like it once I get into it.

Still need to finish some other games. Yay for games.

You know sometimes I can really sympathise with how the Incredible Hulk feels...

:O

Just got back from my last ever creative writing lesson. :D

All I need to do now is finish the portfolio.

Easier said than done.

Had a bit of a blip on the ol' happiness meter today. Think it was just a blip. Will sort it out tomorrow listening to Feeder on the way to work tomorrow.

Yay for Feeder's new album! ^_^

Wild and wacky

So I went into London for a 60s / 70s party this weekend for a mate's birthday, which involved the purchasing of a god-awful shirt and the growing of sideburns. It was a great night out where I met some new people and had a laugh. :)

To give you an idea of the sort of shirt I was wearing, look here:

Note: Quite a big image to load!

I got back to Rochester at about 3am. And then spent a bit of time at someone's flat. I was walking home just as it was beginning to get light again. :D Excellent.

Ah~ South Park boxsets. Just what my "sense of humour" required. :)

Sun, Jun. 15th, 2008, 07:09 pm

Sussex lost again today. Rubbish. Looks like we won't be getting anywhere near twenty20 finals day this year. :(

Still, the Oval's a nice ground. And pretty easy to get to. Might end up there a few more times before the year's out. ^^ You never know...

There is something genius about the cricket commentators getting the captain of one of the teams to do commentary. :) Especially when he starts having a go at his players on screen.

Fudge

So my Mum phoned me up this morning to ask me if everything was okay. I replied that yes, things were fine, why was she so concerned? Apparently she's worried that I'm "distancing" myself from everyone around the home area. Admittedly I've not been back to visit people there very often this year. This is because, for once, I am content in myself and tend to be busy on the weekends when I used to head back. I still phone back home (maybe I should do that a little more often), so I don't think I'm neglecting people.

Apparently me suggesting that I want to try out skiing next year has also got her into a flap, worrying that I'm going to break my leg. If I worried about that sort of thing then I wouldn't drive anywhere anymore because of what happened to my brother...

It's coming up to Father's Day soon, and she hinted (well, said) that I should make the effort to return to see him then. I may make a concession with him to see him the day before I go and visit RichOx for the twenty20 action. If I'm going to take him out for a meal, I think he'd be just as happy going on a Thursday.

Typically though, with Mum asking me if anything was wrong I'm now wondering if there is anything wrong. There isn't, but I don't really like these negative questions being spun my way.

Hmmmm.
